The first lubricants I experimented with were WET brand, I’m a long term user and tester of their products. Later in life while doing toy parties and working at my adult store I’ve had the opportunity to test many other lubricants for comparison. Move over KY, or retire, either way, you’ve been topped once again!
I have a big zip-lock bag of WET lubricants that I have tested, so stay tuned for those reviews! I have to give everyone a turn, I’ve won a few more contests and other companies have contacted me to do reviews as well. So if you’re reading along, and have the power to send samples to review PLEASE DO, but there is a little bit of a line to wait on to have face time on my website :)
KY has been around for a buzillion years, thus giving it the power of advertisement and age. Truth be told, they aren’t doing anything new or revolutionary nor is the basic MAKE of their lubricants originally made for sex. If you’ve used any of KY’s products you’ll notice how sticky, white, and well, snotty the lube gets after a few minutes. You end up wetting the area, or reapplying the lubricant. Those are the signs of a terrible lubricant.
Get it? Got it? Good… MOVING ON.
WET is made for sex. You don’t see any commercials for them because America thinks sex is dirty, yet it is quietly found in every Duane Reade I’ve ever gone into.
When KY came out with their couple’s lubricant I gave it the finger test like I do all lubricants I don’t want to personally buy to test out – and it failed. No surprise there.
A few days later WET Together came out to market, and they passed my finger test. While rubbing it between my fingers and on my hands, it didn’t get sticky or snotty. I knew I would eventually take this product home. With my luck I ended up winning an RT contest that @WetTogether was having on Twitter and they sent it to me for free in the mail! YAY!
Facts:
- WET gives you two 2 fl oz bottles.
- One a silicone lubricant for her, and one water based warming lubricant for him.
- Conviently color coded, you can tell at quick glance which one to grab off the night stand.
- Another plus over KY is that the WET bottles are traditionally shaped, they don’t leak or roll unlike the test tube KY design.
The silicone lubricant (HER) is much thinner, than the already thin water based (HIM) lubricant, so be careful. Tipping the bottle should be enough to get just enough out that is needed – no need to squeeze.
Fun:
When I use lubricants I usually use one per session (if any). I know not to use a silicone lube with a silicone toy, and never use an oil based lube with condoms – anything else was fair game! I’ve never honestly thought to use a silicone lube WITH a water based lubricant before. Wish I did, I’d be F A M O U S… but I digress… my guy grabbed his bottle – and I took mine and we applied.
I’m sure that could have been done far more sexily, (ie. I rub it all over his cock whispering dirty explicatives about needing him in my wet… etc etc etc) but I test A TON of products and trust his opinion to do it for himself. Occupational hazard to want to get down to business? Probably.
Since I knew the effect the two lubricants had on my fingers, I left the surprise for him to experience. Sliding home, felt different, I could see it all over his face. He described it later to me as a gliding sensation, like we were oil and water sliding together. It was a bubbly, and tingly warm feeling for us to experience together… plus the extra wetness felt damn good. The silicone kept the water based lube wetter, and we didn’t feel the need to reapply which is a total plus. There is nothing worse than a sticky twat killing the moment.
I was far more sensitive to the lubricants’ wonderful tingling, and he enjoyed the extra warmth… the lubricants certainty made for a really fun, sexy, WET sexin’.
In Conclusion:
Don’t buy KY anything. WET is cheaper in price, and since it is better quality, Together does the job better anyway.
As a long time user and fan of WET products – I recommend giving this duo a chance between your sheets if you’re looking for something easy and fun to try.
Keep your babywipes handy, the silicone lubricant needs a little soap to really wipe clean off your body, but other than that clean up is very simple. These lubes wont leave your junk… all… junky feeling.
Rating: +++++
Until I find a better Couple’s lubricant Wet’s Together will get the 5 positive sign rating! Good luck companies!
