FACT! Alabamaers? Alabamaites? Alabamaians? Alabama Can Now Buy Sex Toys (via drive-thru window?)!

Forget burgers and fries, this drive-thru window serves up sex toys.

Pleasure-seeking just got a lot more convenient for Huntsville residents thanks to an Alabama sex shop that’s now selling sex toys through a drive-up window.

Owner Sherri Williams says her shop is the first adult store in the nation to offer car service and it’s all a part of her crusade to take the stigma away from sex shops.

“The real essence of what I’m trying to get across is adult stores don’t have to be hidden in back alleys,” Williams told The Huntsville Times. “Obviously we wouldn’t be doing as well as we are if no one enjoyed shopping here.”

The Huntsville store has three drive-thru lanes and could easily be mistaken for a suburban bank if not for its name: Pleasures. In fact, before Pleasures moved in and installed its sign with the tagline “one stop romance shop,” the building housed a bank.

FACT! Sex Toys Wont Make You Less Sensitive

There is no evidence that vibrators effect sexual sensitivity. If anything, they may make some people a little less patient because they know that a vibrator can get the job done quicker.

Dear Jane: How Have Sex Toys Changed Your Life?

Usually I answer questions from my Formspring account, but this one comes from National Sex Toy Day on Nov 4th sponsored by MyPleasure.  I’ve thought about it, and here is my answer. oh, and please help spread the word about the sex toy cause!

I’ve been masturbating for nearly as long as I can remember.  I didn’t know what I was doing had a name till I discovered the Playboy channel, but I was madly in love with my little fingers, my silky panties, and running water.  I also liked to watch nature documentaries, National Geographic, and discovery shows more than I liked watching cartoons and sitcoms while I was growing up.  I seemed to always come back to the sex, procreation, mating rituals, gender studies, and marriage, rights of passage ceremonies that many cultures go through.

Then there was a show in the 90′s on HBO called Real Sex, needless to say, I found my calling.  I ordered my first sex toy when I went to college… followed quickly by my second, third, fourth, and etc.  Then I quickly started putting my “research” from growing up with the internet, my interests in BDSM and my porn stash to good use by creating my own course of study.  My hopes were to never actually work a day in my life, and get paid to be me.  So far, my plan is working.

You see, while my friends were in dance classes, obsessing over shoes, cell phones, and whatever else … I was keeping my eye on what was going on in the sex toy business.

Are You In An Anal State?

MyPleasure.com has a blog, and in a recent entry they posted a map of the United States and marked each state with different colors and lengths of anal beads to depict how “Anal” they were.  For example, if the state has a sad face instead of anal beads, it means that state’s population has only 1 anal toy per 40,000 residents.

I’m not 100% where they pooled their info from (likely their sales department), but I feel that the numbers are a little off.  I don’t want to ruin the surprise on which is the #1 Anal State is… but it took me back a second before I formulated a few theories.

Which, is a good thing, because they’re giving out a prize to their favorite theory!

They saw the north east has a lot of anal toy buying activity and say that it is because of the weather.  Long cold winter nights keep people in, and are therefore more likely to try anal sex.  Which, does have some truth to it…
